A module examining the issues involved in creating a habitable office space in a country with an extreme climate. The area chosen to study this problem was Cairo, Egypt. Cairo's very hot and dry climate posed new problems for the design of a comfortable office environment.

Climatic information on basic building forms was interpreted in a series of computer simulations which informed the overall design strategy. Studies of historic and contemporary methods for heat control allowed systems to be included in the final design that would provide significantly lower temperatures than a non-site specific office development.
